Ken Becksted started working in the concrete business back in 1976 at the age of 16 as a hard carrier/laborer. Shortly after he moved into masonry and became a mason at the age of 18 working on high rise commercial buildings in Florida and New Jersey. After years of laying block and brick along with running jobs he decided to start his own company in New Jersey back in 1989. With only a wheel barrel and a few shovels he was determined to become successful. He began knocking on doors and soliciting work any way he could. He started replacing sidewalk blocks, building fireplaces, pouring driveways and then constructing brick fronts on small residential homes leading up to big, new housing development projects. Soon after that in the early 1990s he graduated into bigger commercial and industrial projects. One thing led to another and the business grew into what it is today, a success.
